Carl Wheeler is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Anne Arundel Gastroenterology Associates, P.A. He Graduated from Howard University's Nurse practitioner program following four years of service as an Army officer. He later served as a naval reserve officer reaching the rank of Lieutenant commander.
He has over 15 years of experience as a nurse practitioner in gastroenterology, including working at Walter Reed Army Medical Center's G.I. clinic and in Johns Hopkins' Department of Gastroenterology. While at Johns Hopkins, he was a member of multiple research teams and was involved with several clinical trials. Carl has also worked in research at the National Institutes of Health and as an N.P.- Gastroenterology Hospitalist.
His areas of interest are diet and lifestyles' effect on the G.I. system and how it impacts gastroenterology disorders. Carl is pursuing his doctorate in nursing at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. He is a long-time resident of Annapolis and, in his free time, enjoys fitness, playing guitar, and spending time with his three sons.
