How a Colonoscopy Can Save Your Life

by Natalie (SU)
Have you scheduled your colonoscopy? If you are 50 years or older, if you have a personal or family history of colon cancer, or if you have any known colon cancer risk factors, the answer to this question should most likely be “yes”. And if you have any friends or family members that fall into one of these groups, you should ask them this same question. The fact is, colon cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the world, and it is one of the deadliest forms of cancer in the United States; approximately 1/3 of all those diagnosed with colon cancer will die from the disease. The good news is that the number of deaths has been steadily declining, and this is in large part due to routine screening. So, make that colonoscopy appointment and keep it, because it can save your life.
