What is Causing your Abdominal Pain?

What is Causing your Abdominal Pain?

by Shearly (SU)
Nothing makes you feel more uncomfortable and disrupts a good time than a stomachache, otherwise referred to as abdominal pain. The reason for your abdominal pain could be related to your diet, related to an issue with an organ, or even an injury. If you find that you frequently experience abdominal pain, consider your symptoms, the type of pain (is it dull, sharp, frequent, intermittent?) and where it’s located to help you get to the bottom of it.

Managing Crohn’s Disease at Work

Managing Crohn’s Disease at Work

by Natalie (SU)
If you have Crohn’s disease (CD), coping with the demands of your job become more difficult under the shadow of dealing with this chronic illness. A flare can create uncomfortable symptoms that are difficult enough in the privacy of your own home, but can cause added stress and even embarrassment at work. Abdominal pain and cramping, frequent stools or diarrhea, weight loss, and fatigue can all contribute to mounting difficulties at work. If your boss or coworkers do not understand what Crohn’s disease is, or how it can affect your everyday life, they may misinterpret frequent trips to the bathroom or missed days as laziness, or lack of commitment. Learning to manage Crohn’s disease will help to keep you healthy and strong; and learning to manage it at work will improve your peace of mind, and overall quality of life.
