A colonoscopy is an exam of your entire colon, a colonoscopy allows your doctor to look at the lining of your intestines which helps to diagnose ulcers, polyps, tumors, and other areas of inflammation. During a colonoscopy, your doctor will insert a thin flexible tube with a camera attached into your intestine so that your doctor is able to see any abnormalities in the lining. Your doctor is also able to remove sample tissue to test for any diseases. To prepare for your colonoscopy, it is important to do the following:

Dysphagia is a disease that makes swallowing difficult. It may take more time and effort to move food or liquids from your mouth to your stomach. Sometimes, swallowing may actually become impossible. Occasional dysphagia may be caused by eating too fast or not chewing correctly, this type of dysphagia isn’t necessarily a cause for concern. However, if this occurs more and more often, or if swallowing becomes painful you may have a more severe type of dysphagia.
